Wix to Shopify migration, done carefully.
Wix is a good place to start a store. When you outgrow it, we move your products, customers, orders and content to Shopify and keep the search traffic you have already earned.
Brands we have built for
Why move from Wix to Shopify at all?
Most brands that make this move are not unhappy with how their Wix site looks. They have hit a ceiling on what the store can do: a limited app ecosystem for subscriptions, bundles and reviews, less control over theme code and checkout, and fewer options for selling in several countries. Shopify is built around commerce first, which matters once the store is the business rather than a side of it.
What gets migrated from Wix to Shopify?
We agree the list with you before starting and tick each item off before launch.
01 / Products and variants
Titles, descriptions, prices, SKUs, stock and product options. Wix lets a product carry more option types than Shopify's three, so we plan that mapping before the import.
02 / Collections
Wix categories become Shopify collections, so your menus and filters work the way customers expect.
03 / Customers
Contact details, addresses and marketing consent, linked to each customer's past orders.
04 / Order history
Past orders with their line items, totals and dates, so reporting and customer accounts carry on.
05 / Blog posts and pages
Wix has no built-in blog export, so posts and pages are extracted separately and rebuilt as Shopify articles and pages.
06 / URL redirects
Old /product-page/, /post/ and page URLs each get a 301 to their new Shopify address.
07 / SEO metadata
SEO titles and descriptions are not always included in Wix's standard exports, so we collect them from the live site and write them into Shopify.
08 / Images
Product and blog images moved off Wix's media servers and re-uploaded to Shopify with alt text.
09 / Apps and features
Each Wix app replaced with a Shopify feature, app or theme code, agreed with you before the build.
How does a Wix to Shopify migration work?
Six stages, and your Wix store keeps trading throughout.
01 / Audit and URL inventory
We crawl the Wix site, pull your top pages from Search Console and list every indexable URL, app and content type.
02 / Export and mapping
Products, customers and orders come out of Wix's exports. Blog posts and SEO fields are collected separately. Then each field is mapped to its Shopify home.
03 / Store build
Theme set up or built in clean Liquid, payments, shipping and taxes configured, Wix apps replaced.
04 / Test import, then full import
A sample import for you to review first, then the full data set, checked against the source counts.
05 / Redirects and SEO
A redirect for every URL in the inventory, plus SEO titles and descriptions written into Shopify for every page type.
06 / Cutover and checks
Final import of new orders and customers, domain switched to Shopify, every redirect tested and Search Console watched for new 404s.
What usually goes wrong, and how do we prevent it?
01 / Missing redirects for old Wix paths
Pattern-based redirects miss pages. We build the map from a full URL inventory, so every product, post and page that Google knows about has somewhere to go.
02 / Redirects that Shopify ignores
Shopify only fires a redirect when the path would otherwise show nothing. If an old URL lands on a path Shopify already serves, such as /products or /collections, the built-in route wins. We catch these during mapping.
03 / Default titles on every page
Shopify stores page and article SEO fields in metafields. Imports that skip them leave pages with generic titles. We write your existing titles and descriptions into those fields directly.
04 / Product options that do not fit
Products with more option types than Shopify allows need a plan: combining options, splitting products or using metafields. We decide this per product before the import, not after customers find broken variants.
05 / False alarms when checking redirects
Shopify storefronts sit behind Cloudflare bot protection, which blocks fast parallel checks and makes working redirects look broken. We test them one at a time and keep the log.
06 / Orders placed during the switch
A final delta import runs right before the domain moves, so orders and sign-ups from the last few days are not left on Wix.
What is your migration track record?
Our completed migrations so far are four WooCommerce stores moved to Shopify, covering products, orders, customers and SEO. The export step differs on Wix; the mapping, redirect and SEO discipline is the same.
Space of Space
Czech design brand with a bilingual Czech and English store. We paired every product with its translation, carried the Yoast SEO titles and descriptions into Shopify, and redirected every indexable URL from the old site.
Fragrance Perfume
A perfume retailer running several separate country stores. Each country store was migrated on its own, with its own catalogue, customers, orders and redirects.
4Boxerz
Full WooCommerce to Shopify move: products and variants, customer records, order history and the SEO layer.
4Kickerz
Full WooCommerce to Shopify move: products and variants, customer records, order history and the SEO layer.
How much does it cost to move from Wix to Shopify?
It depends on what is in the store. A small catalogue with a handful of pages is a short job. Hundreds of products with complex options, a busy blog and several languages take more work.
We review the store on a call, then send a fixed price and timeline in writing. Once you are live, our Shopify CRO service can take the new store further. Moving from another platform? See our Shopify migration service overview.
Wix to Shopify migration questions
What store owners ask before they move platforms.
Book a callCan you migrate my Wix store to Shopify without losing SEO?
Yes, if the redirects and metadata are handled properly. We list every indexable Wix URL, map each one to its new Shopify address with a 301 redirect, carry over your SEO titles and descriptions, and test every redirect after launch.
What changes about my URLs when I move from Wix to Shopify?
Wix product pages usually live under /product-page/ and blog posts under /post/. Shopify uses /products/, /collections/, /pages/ and /blogs/. The page names can stay the same, but the paths change, which is why every old URL needs a redirect.
Do my customers and orders move too?
Yes. Customer records and past orders can be exported from Wix and imported into Shopify, linked together, so customers keep their history and you keep your sales baseline.
Can my Wix blog move to Shopify?
Yes. Wix has no built-in export for blog posts, so we extract the posts and their images separately, rebuild them as Shopify blog articles and redirect each old post URL.
What about the apps I use on Wix?
Wix apps do not carry over. During the audit we list each one and agree its replacement: a native Shopify feature, a Shopify app or a small piece of theme code.
Will my Wix site go offline during the move?
No. Your Wix store keeps trading while we build and test on Shopify. At cutover we import anything new since the first run, then point your domain at Shopify.
How much does a Wix to Shopify migration cost and how long does it take?
We scope it on a call after reviewing your store, then send a fixed price and timeline in writing. Catalogue size, the number of languages, how much content sits in the blog and whether you want a custom theme are the main drivers.
